In March 2026, the training centre began a programme of education with The Sid Youth CIC, a local not for profit. The Sid Youth works with young people and professionals locally to achieve the best outcomes for young people, to break down barriers and a gateway of support for wider family. They work with young people to design a variety of programmes to support young people and families.
asphaleia approached Sid Youth to provide a series of sessions for our young people designed to give them life skills, understanding and knowledge to keep themselves safe.
A programme of six sessions were agreed, which began on the 16th of March. The sessions included antisocial behaviour and knife crime: exploitation and county lines: consent and healthy relationships: drugs/substance misuse: police relationships and what to do if you are stopped by the police: mental health and wellbeing.

These sessions covered issues and challenges that young people may experience themselves, or know someone who has experienced or might be worried about. The aim is to empower our students with knowledge and the confidence to know what to do or who can help.
Jack from The Sid Youth facilitated these sessions and was joined by his colleague Siram and other local support providers to give our young people the best possible information. The sessions were engaging and encouraged the students to discuss and learn interactively.
