We had a different but still celebratory time congratulating our students on their achievements this year. Whether they have been with us since September or just a few months, this year we gave out certificates both virtually and in person to thank our students for their work in what has been a very unexpected year.
One of our students, Jamie (name changed) has been with us in training since January. Read on below to see how he is feeling about his achievements in the last six months, as well as what he hopes to achieve in the coming academic year:
“Hi, my name is Jamie and today I'm going to talk about what i have achieved in the last six months. In January, I moved to Worthing from Crawley and started education in the first two weeks of being here. Ever since I joined education again, I have been getting much better at English and still learning to do maths, which i find a bit of a struggle, but will hopefully get there eventually.
At the moment, I am still doing my English and maths but progressing in English much faster and better. I also do employability, which helps me to find a job and I am learning to do mock interviews, to help me for the future and hopefully achieve my dream job, which is to be a real estate agent. I've been attending college every week with no days missed (maybe one or two).
Hopefully by the start of September I would receive a qualification for my English and hopefully receive my maths by the end of the year which is my top goal. I would still like to attend college everyday.”
A massive well done to Jamie for all of his achievements so far.
