This week marks National Careers Week 2026 (2–7 March). It's a nationwide celebration dedicated to empowering young people as they explore future career pathways. The week provides a valuable moment in the academic calendar to shine a spotlight on careers guidance, helping students explore different careers and feel inspired about what comes next.

why national careers week matters
National Careers Week (NCW) brings together schools, colleges, universities, employers and organisations across the UK to support young people in discovering the world of work. It’s all about making career education meaningful and accessible by raising awareness of opportunities, helping students understand their strengths and interests, and providing the resources they need to make informed choices.
this year’s theme: own your future
The 2026 theme, “Own Your Future,” encourages young people to take an active role in shaping their career journeys, whether they’re discovering the basics of different jobs, thinking about apprenticeships, or preparing for a future in a fast‑changing world of work. The theme is supported by a huge range of downloadable resources, interactive games, virtual fairs and activity packs designed for all ages.
