wellbeing with sally; boosting your wellbeing over the summer holidays

I hope you’re all having a fab summer and enjoying life.

I just wanted to highlight some summer holiday wellbeing ideas. Sometimes we get caught up in daily life and pleasing others. Therefore, it’s good to take some time out for yourself, for the things that you want to do to help you stay happy, focused, relaxed and content!

summer holiday wellbeing tips

1. Keep doing the thing or things that you love doing and that you know are good for you

It may be a swim, a walk, a read or your favourite breakfast/brunch.

2. Try and keep a routine

Whatever that looks like for you. As much as we often want to not plan, keeping some kind of routine can help us feel that things are in order and that we are accomplishing what we can.

3. Relax and kick back!

Whatever you feel helps to relax you, make sure you implement it and try to make it a priority. It may be a film, a book, meditation, bubble baths or music - whatever it is, keep it up regularly.

4. Be adventurous with summer foods and stimulate those taste buds! Try a new salad with a delicious dressing, try Mediterranean food, or sushi. Whatever your favourite flavours, enjoy!

5. Get with nature!

Have a nice walk to the park or the beach! Get amongst greenery or the countryside and see if you can find something unusual on your walk. Nature is so good for our wellbeing.

6. Take up a new fun course or hobby!

Starting new activities can help us to feel invigorated and alive! Summer is the perfect time for this.

7. Spend time with good people around you.

Whether this is friends, family, colleagues or all of these! Take some time out to have some laughs and nice times with these people.

8. Arrange something you can look forward to.

This could be a night out, a meal, a camping trip or even a quick coffee and catch up. Its lovely to have nice things to look forward to, this helps us with our daily motivation.

9. Switch off from work, college and school when it’s the weekend.

This helps our overall wellbeing and enables us to feel refreshed when we are back in the workplace or college etc..

10. Do something that’s fun and keeps you active.

It may be joining a salsa class! My latest tip on this is a mini dance workout. They are so much fun! (And you can sing along too!)

So go ahead and try some/all of them! And don’t forget to let us know how you get on!

Enjoy the rest of this Summer.
