asphaleia staff work across different services in different locations and one way in which HR bring staff together to get involved in something fun is by running monthly competitions.
These became more important during the first lockdown of 2020 when staff were feeling disconnected and following the positive feedback, HR has continued it ever since.
The competitions are simply for fun and often get people involved with quizzes, photo competitions and sometimes a race on who responds first! Occasionally, competitions connect to the monthly HR bulletin that goes out to support staff in their work and with their wellbeing.
Recently, staff were able to enter a quiz based on the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. All correct entries were gathered and the winner drawn at random. The prize was a box of afternoon treats from M&S. Jeni, the lucky winner, said, "It's nice to do something fun together amongst the day-to-day work, and the prizes are always great."
