Foster Care Fortnight is a national campaign lead by The Fostering Network that shines a spotlight on the vital role of foster care in our communities. This annual event takes place from the 12th-25th of May and aims to raise awareness, celebrate foster carers, and encourage more people to consider fostering. In 2025, the campaign will be centred around the theme "The Power of Relationships," highlighting the profound impact that connections with significant others has on the lives of children in care.

the importance of relationships in foster care
Relationships are at the heart of the foster care experience. They provide children with the stability, support, and love they need to thrive. During Foster Care Fortnight 2025, we will focus on:
building trust: We are passionate about supporting our carers to form strong relationships within their fostering family, and to support the child with their relationships with others, such as their birth families, and other professionals in their lives.
community connections: Our fostering agency is embedded in our wider organisation and we'll be encouraging our staff team to come together to learn more about fostering and support our agency team. We'll also be encouraging our asphaleia community to share about fostering in their networks.
celebrating foster carers: Recognising the dedication of foster carers in nurturing relationships that help children feel safe and valued.
