The festive season has officially arrived, and what a joyful start it’s been! Across our community, young people have been busy spreading holiday magic by decorating beautiful Christmas trees in our learning centre and our supported accommodation houses.
christmas in asphaleia care
Not all of our young people celebrate Christmas, but most have entered into the spirit of togetherness by joining in with opening a Christmas hamper of treats that was sent to every property.
Trees have been decorated and plans are being made for special meals on Christmas Day and New Years for young people who wish to participate.

Students in our further education and training provision helped to decorate the learning centre, creating a delightful tree that students, tutors and visitors can enjoy when they arrive at our centre!

advent week for staff
Meanwhile, our staff embraced the festive fun last week with an Advent Week packed full of quizzes and prizes! From brain-teasing challenges to friendly competition, as well as a montage of cheesy cracker jokes from staff, the week was a great way to celebrate together and share some fun during this magical time of year.

safeguarding at christmas
The monthly safeguarding bulletin for staff was sent out this week with some reminders about how to support young people specifically during the festive period, a time that can be emotional and challenging for some.
We have also shared a blog post signposting young people to services they can access for support during the Christmas break.
opening hours over christmas
Please note - our learning centre is closed 24th-28th of December.
Applications to study and other referrals will still be received over the holiday period and other services are contactable as usual.
