The FIFA World Cup 2026 is creating plenty of excitement across our supported accommodation services, with young people and staff coming together to enjoy the tournament in a variety of ways.

Every house has received a World Cup wall chart, giving young people the chance to track fixtures, record scores, and follow their favourite teams throughout the competition. The charts have quickly become a focal point in many homes, sparking conversations and friendly debates.
For some staff members, the tournament has also been an opportunity to learn more about football. Young people have been sharing their knowledge of teams and players, helping staff get involved and creating meaningful opportunities to connect through a shared interest.

The excitement isn't limited to watching matches indoors. Several houses are organising football games outside, encouraging young people to stay active and recreate some of the World Cup magic for themselves.
Many homes have also embraced match days with their own watch parties. Young people and staff are gathering to cheer on their chosen teams while enjoying pizza, snacks, and a great atmosphere. These events have become a fun way to bring everyone together and create positive shared experiences.
What makes the celebrations especially meaningful is that each house is doing things differently. Rather than following a set plan, young people are being encouraged to take the lead in deciding how they want to engage with the tournament. Whether that means hosting a watch party, organising a kickabout in the local park, or keeping detailed score predictions on the wall chart, the activities reflect the interests and ideas of the young people themselves.
The World Cup has provided more than just entertainment. It has created opportunities for social connection, learning, physical activity, and young people to take ownership of activities within their homes.
