asphaleia are delighted to be delivering the Advocacy and Independent Visitor services for East Sussex County Council. We took over the contract from Change Grow Live on the 1st of this month and are pleased to have new staff members and volunteers joining our team.
We will introduce more about the service very soon and will have dedicated pages on our website in the coming days. But for now, here's a bit of information about each service.
advocacy service
Our independent advocates will work with children and young people (CYP) who have an East Sussex County Council social worker. They enable CYP to have their voice heard and their wishes and feelings taken into account, also providing the tools needed for them to make informed decisions.

IV service
Independent Visitors are volunteer adults who support children and young people who are looked after by East Sussex County Council. They befriend and provide independent support through monthly visits and fun activities that take place in the community.

CYP voice
We are passionate about ensuring CYP have their voices heard and both of these services are essential for providing independent support to CYP who are looked after.
Having delivered an Independent Visiting service recently for a London borough, we know the impact that these relationships can have on CYP and we look forward to seeing more of them flourish through the support these services offer.
volunteers
We will be welcoming many volunteers into the fold as both services rely on committed volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of looked after CYP.
