The UK Government has created a new website for care leavers to enable them to access support and understand what is available to them at this stage of their lives. The website covers all areas of leaving care and includes entitlements and helpful links.

who is the website for

The new website for care leavers offers support to you if you:

  • are aged 16 to 25

  • have been in care or looked after by a local authority in England


This includes: foster care, residential care (like a children’s home), time in custody (like a young offender institution or secure children’s home), if you arrived alone in the UK to seek asylum before 18.


what does the website include

The website includes guides on:

  • Money and benefits

  • Housing and accommodation

  • Work and employment

  • Health and wellbeing

  • Education and training

  • Unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people


There is also a page with various helplines you can call to help in a crisis, or to get advice and support with different issues.
