Policy with Purpose:
Driving Culture, Compliance & Capability
learning & development week; allowing policies to shape practices
Policies aren’t just rules, they’re reflections of what our organisation values. The week explored how well-crafted policies can foster safe working practices, trust, inclusion, and continuous learning.
The week aimed to support staff to refresh their understanding, explore new developments, and connect policy to ‘real-world’ practice.
what the week involved
An email arrived in staff members' inboxes each day with content that helped them develop skills and knowledge within the Policies theme we were focusing on.
Content for the week included:
Clarity around the purposes behind policies, highlighting specific policies and their impact on workplace culture and safety
Relationships between compliance and policy
Staff feedback about using policies
Scenario-based activities to practice putting policies into practice
A quick-reference guide template
A final quiz for a bit of fun!
Staff were also asked to review a policy together in team meetings, examining how the policy supports or challenges our workplace culture and making suggestions for development.
